Karl Hunter Joins Voodoo Orchestra as Special Guest

Karl Hunter, the saxophonist of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, joins the lineup for a special performance at the 2025 Telluride Jazz Festival

We are excited to announce that Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Karl Hunter will join the Voodoo Orchestra at the Telluride Jazz Festival for a special collaborative performance on the Main Stage Saturday, August 9.

Multi-instrumentalist Karl Hunter has toured extensively for decades with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy performing at marquee events like the Super Bowl XXXIII halftime show and sharing the stage wit the likes of Stevie Wonder and B.B. King. Lead by renowned music educator, Caleb Chapman, The Voodoo Orchestra is filled with incredible student talent that has been named the nation’s top young blues and swing band by DownBeat Magazine. The 20 piece band is know for its high energy performance fusing an infectious blend of rockabilly, jazz, and down home blues.

Hunter and Chapman have a long history of working together since they met in the late ‘90s, and their friendship and mutual admiration creates magic when they take the stage together!
