Yes, it’s true. Adrian Quesada is one-half of the celebrated psych-soul duo, Black Pumas. With musical partner Eric Burton, the Black Pumas exploded on the scene and were rewarded for their prowess with a slew of Grammy nods including Best New Artist in 2019. Their records and live performances are the stuff of legend.

But look deeper into that band’s flair for deeply felt, R&B-inflected songs (boy howdy, can Mr. Burton sing), and you will find Adrian Quesada’s never-ending hunger for fresh music that reflects his roots growing up on the border of Texas and Mexico.

Before the Pumas, Adrian was already a fixture in Austin’s vibrant music scene, and the creative force behind contemporary Latin bands such as Brownout, Ocote Soul Sound, Spanish Gold, Echocentrics, including  a 15-year stint with Grupo Fantasma. According to the Austin-American Statesman, Adrian is a “central figure in putting Austin on the contemporary Latin music map.” From his studio in Austin, Electric Deluxe, Adrian has worn his producer’s cap for more than 150 credits, including those for his work with Black Pumas.

The recipient of eight Grammy nominations, an Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song (Like A Bird for the film Sing Sing in 2024), Adrian brings to the stage in Telluride Town Park a vast catalogue of songs that speak to not only Latin-American culture and sounds, but his love of soul, hip-hop and glorious ballads. We’re in for a treat, folks!
